October is Disability Employment Month
At The Connect Café, we believe employment preparation begins long before the application. It begins in the classroom and in the community, through exposure, exploration, skill-building, meaningful experiences, and discovering what sparks passion and purpose. We believe it’s about more than simply obtaining a job. It’s about discovering a path to employment that aligns with who we are, honors our needs and strengths, allows us to authentically be ourselves, and creates a place where we can contribute and belong.
This October, The Connect Café is proud to recognize Disability Employment Month by creating opportunities for individuals, families, educators, and community partners to learn, connect, and prepare for meaningful futures.
Join us this month for our Annual IEP Navigation event and Boo & Belong as we continue building connections, creating opportunities, and cultivating belonging.

Founded in the spring of 2024, The Connect Café exists to close the gaps in workforce development by walking alongside individuals navigating the dual barriers of race and disability or disabling conditions. Our mission is to create real access to opportunity by offering support that leads to meaningful employment and long-term success.
